How We Edit Wedding Photos: Our Complete Lightroom Preset Workflow
A full day of wedding coverage produces between 3,000 and 5,000 raw images. From that, we deliver 500 to 800 finished photographs — each colour-corrected, exposure balanced, and edited to a cohesive visual standard. The entire process, from memory card to online gallery, takes us 8 to 12 working hours per wedding. Most of that is cull.
Our editing workflow:
1. Import and backup. Every card is backed up to three locations before we touch a single image.
2. First pass cull. We remove obvious rejects — closed eyes, motion blur, duplicates.
3. Second pass cull. We select the best images from each moment, choosing for emotion, composition, and storytelling.
4. Colour correction. We apply our base OMV preset and adjust for the specific lighting conditions of your venue.
5. Fine editing. Individual adjustments to skin tones, exposure, cropping, and detail.
6. Export and gallery building. Images are exported at full resolution and uploaded to your private online gallery.
7. Quality check. We review the entire gallery one final time before delivery.
The difference between a 4-hour edit and a 12-hour edit is consistency. We take the time to ensure every image in your gallery feels like it belongs together.
